Easter Eggs
I'm trying to do some arts and crafts at home. What a second, did I say "arts and crafts" ? I just realised how ridiculous that sounds, I don't do arts and crafts, I received a 70 in art !!! I think I better stick with teaching her how to throw a ball. Anyway, I thought we would color some eggs for Easter. From the get go we had problems; it's tough to locate white eggs. Coloring brown eggs works if you like earthy tones and stick with your primary colors, so that's what we did. I had plans of us coloring eggs together - yes first time Mom thinking she can have a 17month old help in the kitchen. So I colored the eggs first and "tried" to have her put stickers on them. I also gave her the task of preparing her Easter basket.

Erin thought the eggs were balls but in the same respect she also tried to eat them - notice the blue "lipstick".

The egg dying didn't go as planned and I had to take them away as she was getting food coloring everywhere. We decided to take a different route with the food coloring and add it to a bucket of water. She had a ball- she played in orange and purple water.

St. Patrick's Day and Trying on Easter Shoes
St. Patrick's day is not as big here as it is in New York. There are plenty of celebrations at your local pub but where are the parades and "Kiss me I'm Irish" buttons" ? I find this strange because there are plenty of Irish here, true Irish. True Irish that moved here in this decade and not century. Anyway, Erin did make a shamrock in daycare and ate some Irish soda bread. Here she is celebrating at home. (she's not drinking the Pepsi !)
We needed to break in her new Easter shoes, she loves shoes (what girl doesn't) but these are a bit stiff. She was clonking around the house looking like Frankenstein so they came off within two minutes. Check out her outfit, nothing matches and she has crazy bed hair.
Speaking of wild hair I'm renamed her "Crazy Hair". Her hair is out of control and I just love it- it's the funniest and I'm not ready to cut it. It fits her personality perfectly and it's become a show stopper wherever we go. Here she is with Paul after she came out of the pool and just towel dried it. Crazy Hair !

Fruit, Transportaion and Dad's Helper
We have become a vegetable free home. Erin has decided to boycott all veggies until the Australian government decides to step in and stop Coles and Woolworths and get behind the vegetable farmers. Pretty advanced thinking for a 17month old ! Actually she just decided that vegetables are not and will not be part of her diet, for now. I have to get creative and sneak them in when I can. However, it's all about fruit. Any fruit, anytime.

We've been missing our lunches at Bronte beach and I think Paul was missing the good waves so we purchased Erin's new mode of transportation. She loves it. Plus a cute towel pic.

Erin has toys that have taken over our TV room so we purchased two storage boxes just to keep them tidy. I think she likes the boxes more than some of her toys. They came flat packed and Paul and Erin had to put them together. She's such a huge help.

Leap Year(Month) Comes To A Close
I need to round out February with some pics that have been piling up. With the exception of about 8 days it rained the entire month. (exception to when Connor and Karen were here- I'll post separately) With rainy days come silly days. Erin gets so bored being in the house for a few days straight so we do silly things like trying on anything that she can get her hands on. Here she is wearing Paul's swim gear after he came back from an ocean race - yes in the rain and his "aussie" hat.

First day of "School" - Go the Giants
I do not like the Giants and this is the first time in my life that I was routing for the Giants to pull out a win- anyone against New England. I think I dislike NE as much as I do the fish. Anyway, Erin was there to cheer on the Giants as much as I was. She demonstrated her true spirit by wearing her Jets jersey - it was the first time that I put it on her. There never was an opportunity in the Jet season to see a reason. It seems that we have another Jet fan in the family.

Erin also started her first day at "School" - daycare. They call it school which is fitting as they charge a tuition. She only goes two days / week - M-Th and so far it's been good for her. Although she's already brought home a stomach virus and we're now both battling a cold.

The backpack is tiny but it looks huge on her- I make her carry it all the way into the building - NO.

Featherdale- Again !
During the school break I try to do something with my nieces and this break Maddie wanted to go to Featherdale - again. It was an extremely hot day so the animals weren't too active but that didn't stop Erin from trying to pet them all - except....the Koala ? The most docile of all the animals and she was terrified but thought the wallabies were dogs. Go figure.

Christmas Past
OK OK - It's been a LONG LONG time since my last post and I have a lot of catching up to do. So for starters let me just post some pictures from Christmas day. Erin is still a bit young to understand but every morning we would go visit the "tree". She would ask to see the tree first thing in the morning so on Christmas she was very excited to see that it had presents. Next year will be even better. I'll let the pics tell the story.

These next two pictures are my favourite from the day. She received a new ride-on from my brother, Mike and sister-in-law Debbie. She her excitement on the first ride.

Well is soon ended with the CLASSIC first wipe-out. That's my girl !!! (Paul thought she needed to go faster !)
